In the 1841 Census of Radnorshire in the parish of St. Harmon a name of
a farm is given as "(Sro?) willan". Has anyone any idea as to what the
correct name is ? The "Arthur" family were in residence at the time.

Is it possible the place-name may have evolved in this one [Sero Mill],
listed in the 1881 Census? Nearest "neighbors" (before and after in the
order of enumeration) included Middle Nantserth (200 acre farm) and
Gamallt.

Dear Eric,
In the area identified by Julie, an 1891 map (available at
www.old-
maps.co.uk/) shows 'Serw Barn' near which is an unnamed mill.
The mill is at coordinates 296300,269543.
Could this be the place you are seeking?
Kind regards,
John
