For your Merthyr people, subscribe to the Glamorganshire list.
For your Aberystwyth couple, subscribe to the WLS-Cardiganshire *and* Dyfed lists.
The LDS have microfilmed all of these census, as well, and it appears you're in a good
place to make use of the nearest LDS FHC.

Hello everyone this is Robert Williams in Utah I am looking for help to
locate my ancestors
1- Richard and Gwenllian Williams on the 1841 census Thomas (their son
wouldd be 2 y.o) he was born 1839 in Merthyr Tydfil
2- Richards father Edmund Williams on the 1841 census Edmund Williams and
wife Mary(Edmunds) Richard was b. 1807 in Gelligare
3-Now the real Tough one Richard Jones b. abt 1830 in Cardiganshire
married Anne Parry children Elizabeth Jones ,Rees Jones,Mary Ann
Wife (Anne Parry Jones died in 1874 of Cholera and shortly thereafter the
children w/o Richard came to America Richard and Anne were married in
1856 in Aberystwith looking for Richard Jones on 1841 census Father was
Rees Jones in 1869 the family was in Tredegar that was where MaryAnn was
born.
