You can call Ancestry, they support FTM. If you want to put a tree on
Ancestry (useful if you want to use Ancstry and attach records to
family members) FTM lets you update your tree without losing your
previous additions.
Me I use Legacy family tree and there is a good free edition of it BUT
you should be able to find a copy of FTM which gives you 6 months free
access to Ancestry which is worth much more than the cost of the FTM

For all that has been, thanks.
For all that will be, yes.

Hi All,
My family history work has been on the back burner for some years
now, and my Family Tree Maker software was somewhat aged before that
point. I think it was the first version on CD.
Having recently been sent a large Gedcom, I rather feel that the time
has come for an update. I note that FTM is still going strong, with
several versions to choose from, and would be interested in any comments.
Should I stay with FTM (and which version should I consider), or
there something much better now?
I will have a need to import the old files, I suspect that the
current version may not open the old file format, but would welcome
suggestions if anyone has tried it.
Cheers
Malcolm
