Also, for information: Ancestry experienced a DDNS on June 16th. A DDNS [Distributed
Denial of Service] is a hacker attack. Ancestry itself, and all its related paid sites,
were down for 4 to 5 days as they slowly recovered their network. Free access related
sites, such as Find A Grave and all of the Rootsweb network, didn't come back online
until June 24th. So _everyone_ had a gap in messages, and some sites are still slow as
they process backlogs. It appears that no data or history was lost, but I suspect
re-indexing is still creating a few slowdowns.
I'm just glad we are all back!

Hi Daphne,
Don't blame your computer for the absence of Powys List messages: no
messages were delivered on the Powys List between 3 June and 26 June.
Additionally, your message sent on 23 June was delayed in transit and was
not received by RootsWeb until 26 June.
The absences of messages on the list is the result of a decline in activity
on the part of members of the List. The number of list members is still only
slightly down compared with five years ago, when the activity averaged
around 100 messages per month.
Kind regards,
John Ball
