Thanks Lesley, the fact that its another Jeremiah Brown in Llandinam is certainly
intriguing, as it was a name that went down to my Great Grandfather. However, I realise
that different lines of families seem to stick with the same names; there seem to be quite
a lot of Jeremiah Browns on Family Search in that part of Montgomeryshire, and when I was
looking for ‘my’ Jeremiah’s wife, almost every female Mills I came across seemed to be
called Elizabeth and every male, Richard. Off to check if there are Brown wills on the
NLW website that may help.
I guess if all family history just fell in our laps, it wouldn’t be half so interesting!
Best wishes
Hywel

I'm looking for help in tracing a Baptismal Record and/or parents and family
for Jeremiah Brown and his wife Elizabeth Mills. According to the 1861
Census, Jeremiah was born in 1811 in Llandinam, according to the 1851 Census
he was born in 1807 (by 1841 they seem to have had moved to Tredegar,
Monmouthshire, but I haven't found him on the 1841 census).
I know that he was married on 24 April 1831 at Llandinam Parish Church to
Elizabeth Mills spinster of Llandinam (The 1851 census states she was born
in Trefeglwys, the 1861 states Llandinam - both say in about 1813). Their
oldest 3 children were all baptised at Llandinam. I did find a baptismal
record for an Elizabeth Mills on 9 September 1813 in Llanwnnog, but recently
I've come across a burial record for 12 September 1813 at Llawnnog for what
seems the same baby (age given as 0).
I'm in touch with other descendants in Australia and the USA, but to my
knowledge they don't have any more information than me and I'd love to break
through this particular stone wall
Many thanks
Hywel
