Hi all seasons greetings,
just been catching up with old mail and noticed the reply to someone trying
to purchase a certificate from abroad, does anyone realise how expensive it
is to get a bank to draft a cheque for seven pounds in sterling from abroad
? ,the answer is obviously not.
I would suggest that no one in their right mind would try,as the expense
will, out cost the small amount. If you wish to purchase a certificate listed
via its BMD reference and the local register office does accept credit
cards, then do not waste you money in giving them the business.Purchase it
direct from the General Register Office who do accept credit cards
.http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ as was mentioned in the
last email regarding this issue.
After you have purchased it ,please email the local council that is
responsible for the registry office concerned. And complain preferably to
the local councillors and ask them as to why they are not doing there civic
duty in making sure that their local registry office is available to all and
why it will lose revenue due to its obvious current financial
mismanagement.I did the same to Herefordshire and they now accept credit
cards. All councils in the UK take payment for everything from parking
tickets to council tax via credit cards so it not difficult for any registry
office to do the same in this day and age.
Best regards
