Hi Listers
I am carrying out some research on behalf of an elderly lady who lives in Felin Fach,
Breconshire. She has had in her possession for many years an old sepia toned photograph
of a man dressed in the Masonic regalia of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes and
has always wondered who he was. Apparently he had a shop in the Struet in Brecon and was
related to her grandmother.
Her grandmother was Elizabeth JAMES, who was born in 1863 at Eskir(fechan), Crickadarn,
Brecs.. According to Free BMD Elizabeth married William WILLIAMS, who was born at
Henllwynonfach, Llandefalle, Brecs. circa 1860, in the March quarter of 1891 in
Brecknock.
The man in the picture could be anything from 50 to 70 or more years of age. His attire
gives no real clue as to when the picture was taken, it could be anywhere from about the
mid 1890's to the 1930's.
Does any lister have any knowledge about the ROA Buffaloes in Brecon?
