Clive,
You are quite correct. This email is being sent by hitting the "reply to"
as opposed to the "Reply All" button. However, I suspect that you will get 2
copies, as the address line has both your name and that of the mailing list.
If I had hit the Reply All (which I would normally do) the address line would show
you, John Ball and Powys twice.
It must be something to with the format that shows your address in the received from as
"Clive Gardener via <powys(a)rootsweb.com>".

Hi All
In selecting 'Reply All', to add to John's e-mail, sent earlier today,
I've
noticed that the address powys(a)rootsweb.com has pasted itself up twice . . .
as if there might be a hidden or inadvertent duplicate addressee created
behind the scenes by some software 'glitch'. So, for the purpose of finding
out how these duplicate e-mails are being generated and turning up, I've
left the duplicate entries in place for the benefit of the 'properties'
section of the e-mail.
At the present time I've received:
Rhian Williams via 31/8 21:28 (received 21:31)
Change of List Admin 4 copies
Megan Roberts via 2/9 00:24 (received 00:30 & 00:31)
Llanwyddelan 2 copies
Graham Williams (gw55fh) via 2/9 20:33 (received 20:36 & 20:37)
multiple copies of the same email 2 copies
Whereas John's e-mail (to which I'm replying), like Rhian's introductory
e-mail, only showed one powys(a)rootsweb.com address entry on the original
header (but two after I selected 'Reply All', which goes for Rhian's as
well), both Megan's and Graham's incoming e-mails show two rootsweb address
entries in their headers.
Because when I selected 'Reply All' the powys address pasted itself up
twice, automatically, you may all be receiving two copies of this e-mail -
with both addresses showing in lower case letters. Except, I've just saved,
closed and reopened the draft of the e-mail and, in the process, the second
powys address has disappeared . . . If I'd sent the e-mail before closing a
saved version then there would have been two powys addresses in the header,
but now I can only see one!
However, for Megan's incoming e-mail the first appearence of the rootsweb
address has 'POWYS' in capitals. Whereas for Graham's incoming e-mail the
second appearance of the rootsweb address has 'POWYS' in capitals.
I hope this helps with working out what is happening!
Best regards
Clive Gardener

Hello All,
The Powys Archives shows only one duplicate email - that sent on Tuesday
by
Megan Roberts <welshladymegan(a)yahoo.co.uk> with the subject "Re: [POWYS]
Llanwyddelan". Both messages had an identical time stamp.
Cheers,
John

Hello Rhian
I have two copies of some messages. It looks like the difference between
"Reply" and "Reply All".
I had two from Graham Williams but only one from "Brychdyn".

Glenys
