Hi Ceri
In the area you're looking at, the majority of people were Baptists
or Calvinistic Methodists. There were two Independent chapels
further south in the parish, Cefnarthen and Pentre-gy-Gwyn. Their
records were kept together. More information about available records
can be found here
http://www.dyfedfhs.org.uk/resources/CMN/lfab
From 1852, an Independent chapel was opened in Cilycwm, which might
have been more convenient -
see
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CMN/Cil-y-Cwm/ but there are
apparently no archive holdings forthis chapel.

Thank you, Theo and Anna,
And there's my family home, Gwernpwll, just below Rhandirmwyn. Being a
Welsh Nonconformist family, I wonder where they would have worshipped and
been buried. My Davies side of the family.from Penhenwernfach and
Abergefail farms in Llangammarch were all buried in the graveyard of
Gelynos chapel, Llanwrtyd, founded in 1693, Congregationalists, I believe.
Many thanks,
Ceri.
