Dear Listers,
I'm pleased to tell you that following my decision to resign as List
Administrator at the end of this month, Powys List member Rhian Williams
has
kindly stepped forward to take over the reins.
The admin changeover will take place on Monday, 31 August; from then
onwards
the Powys List will be in Rhian's capable hands. I expect she will
introduce
herself to you via the List in the next day or two.
Although I shall no longer be List Administrator, I will remain subscribed
as a regular member of the List, and will contribute to the list's
activities whenever I can usefully do so.
I will send my final message as List Administrator on Monday, when I will
post the last of my regular monthly List Activity Stats notices.
My sincere thanks to all of you for your support over the past decade; your
kindness and willingness to share your experience, expertise and ideas on
the list helped to ease the Administrator's task considerably.
I am confident that the Powys List will continue to flourish under Rhian's
leadership.
Kind regards,
John

Does anybody know the current position regarding this site? It was a
project which invited volunteers to transcribe place-names and other text
on the 1900 OS map with the aim of producing a digitised version. Is it
still running or has it been completed?

Thanks Jill,
The naming pattern - Thomas, John, Evan shown in your Llanfair
entries is the same as my family (and unfortunately a few others!)
Thomas (eldest) is named after the father, the others after uncles.
But after a few iterations it gets very confusing.
I suspect the Llanfair Caereinion Bebbs are related. But that's a separate
job!
Cheers
Malcolm
