I did view a few of the websites containing Chapels but there wasn't much
about whether they still existed or were in use as Chapels.

Dear Sue,
Have you tried the Coflein database at
http://www.coflein.gov.uk/
This is sponsored by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical
Monuments of Wales.
On the opening page, click on the 'Coflein text search' button. On the next
page, select 'Chapel' from the 'Type of site' drop-down menu, and select
the
relevant county and/or community.
The chapel entries usually indicate the status of the chapel at the time it
was last visited - whether or not still in use as a chapel.
As an example, entering Glasbury as the community pulls up the following
list:
- Glasbury Congregational Chapel, The Green, Glasbury
- Glasbury Wesleyan Methodist Church, Cwmbach Chapel, Boughrood Road,
Cwmbach
- Llanwhimp Primitive Methodist Chapel, Ebenezer, Llanywhimp
- Maesyronen Congregational Chapel, Ffynnon Gynnydd Road, Maesyronen
- New Zion Primitive Methodist Chapel (Moity Chapel), Moity Road, Moity
Each of the entries has a link to further details of the individual chapel,
including: Grid references, Site descriptions (sometimes including
historical and/or architectural details), and Status (when last visited).
Note that the index can be rather quirky: for example it did not find the
entry for Treble Hill Baptist Chapel under the Glasbury search, although it
is included in the Coflein database.
Kind regards,
John
