Many many thanks to Ann, Mike, Dennis, Shirley and Shirley.
Ann - I've tracked down the Bill Barker CD - 'Montgomeryshire
Families 1675 to 1825' - and have a copy on order
Mike - Thanks for the link at
www.recyclegen.com/archives/montg_coll/
tuv/trow.htm. - plenty to go on there
Shirley (Frost) - As you suggest I'll get in touch directly and
compare notes on our Trow research
Shirley (Vinall) - Thanks for your info and I'll keep it in mind as I
continue to explore this lot!
Dennis - Thanks especially to you for finding my grandfather's Birth
record!!! - as Walter Chandler in 1863
I'd always thought that my grandfather's middle name might be a clue
to his father but had never actually thought to search the BMD for
Walter Chandler rather than Walter Trow. Walter's mother, Margaret
Trow, had also had two other illegitimate sons - Arthur Trow in 1852
and Thomas Alfred Chandler Trow in 1848. So a long term liaison with
a Mr Chandler now looks highly probable.....
.....which led me to discover the wonderful collection of photographs
- 'Colourful Characters of Kerry' - on the Welsh Cultural History
'Gathering the Gems' website. And there they are....
...Not only Will Trow, my grandfather's cousin, born 1848, son of
Walter's uncle John and looking just like my dad with a beard:

...but also two photos of William Chandler (aka Walter Jones), again
with a very close family resemblance, and the possibility that this
could be my great grandfather!

they're at:

Many thanks again to everyone

I'm a newby to the list. I don't know if anyone can help with a
couple of sources I've been trying to find.
I'm researching my Trow line. My grandfather Walter Chandler Trow was
born in Kerry (Ceri) in 1864 to Margaret Trow, a single woman.
Margaret was born in 1824 and had a brother John Trow (b 1820) and a
sister Emma (b 1827). Their parents were William and Margaret.
William died in 1826/7.
The two sources I'm looking for are:
1 The Montgomeryshire Collections vol 39, which I understand includes
the Parish registers of Kerry for 1602-1812
and
2 Information compiled by Phil Mustoe that I originally found on his
pfmustoe website about 5 years ago. The website doesn't work any
longer and I stupidly failed to copy and paste the very full listings
it contained on Trow baptisms and Trow marriages in Kerry and the
surrounding parishes.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of or view a copy of 1?
And is anyone by any chance aware of any alternative source for the
pfmustoe transcriptions?
Regards to all

Hi Shirley, and Steve Trow,
The Trows can be seen on the _www.Northwalesbmd_ (http://

website from 1837
Walter Chandler Trow was registered as Chandler at birth in 1864.
