Thanks to Helen and Lloyd for responding to my query about locating
records for pre-1837 births.
It actually is Llanelli, Breconshire where my people lived -- but,
interestingly, I first found them with
a lot of help from people on the Carmarthenshire list. It was someone
on that list who first let me know
that there is more than one Llanelly/Llanelli in Wales! And you're
right, Helen, the people in the Carms
archives office are very helpful. Lloyd, thanks for the contact info
for the Gwent Record Office. I'll get in
touch with them shortly.
