It is also connected with "rights" issues on programmes. The BBC pays for
broadcasting the programme in the UK, if they wished to make it available
worldwide on the Internet then the programme produces, talent etc would
probably all want paying more. But it is a pity that they cannot make some
programmes like this available as there is probably a very limited marked in
overseas sales and they are not going to put much strain on the BBC's
bandwidth.

There are many programmes available on the BBC website in the UK that

not available to those visiting the website from outside the UK. I
discovered this some time ago when accessing the website from Canada.
The restriction may be related to the fact that the BBC service is at
least
partly funded by the licence fees paid only by UK residents.
