Hi Martin
I guess it reflects the preponderance of US citizens in Ancestry's US
reference population and the relatively large number of people of
Irish origin there.
I recently had my results from FTDNA' MyOrigins test. I have one
parent who was almost entirely Welsh (just 1 Somerset gg-grandparent)
and the other almost entirely Estonian. My Estonian ancestry is
adequately reresented by Scandinavian, Finnish and Siberian, and
Eastern European components, but there is no British or "Irish"
component, only some West and Central European.
I suspect that there are not too many people with Welsh origins in
the reference populations.

Annoyingly they seem to class Welsh as Irish! I am half Welsh but according
to Ancestry I am 64% Irish.
I would have thought they could find a better description for what probably
also includes Gaelic Scotland. I can imagine someone getting their results
in the USA and wasting a lot of time looking for an Irish connection.
