Hi Margaret
There is a database on Rootsweb (Lucinda P Ashton's Father's line compiled
by James Hamilton, database :1014615) which has Wilsons in Trefeglwys, but
they are firmly using English style surnames throughout (search on John
Wilson b 1558 to bring it up) .
I have no Trefeglwys Roberts and only one Roberts using a patronymic surname
(not relevant to you).
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Nicola

Hi Nicola,
Thank you for sharing this, it very interesting as it is the first definite
sign of patronymic names that I found for Trefeglwys. Abraham Hamer, my 8
x great grandfather married Margaret on the 2nd May 1673 at Llandinam. Her
will was written on the 12th July 1708 and proven 16th July 1709.
According to her will she probably had two siblings John and Elizabeth and
they used the patronymic "surname " Roberts after their father Robert
Wilson. The late Dorrie Carver who was considered the Hamer expert
provided this information however she didn't have definite proof. You seem
to be searching extensively in the Parish of Trefeglwys and I would be very
grateful if you could pass on any information you find on either the names
Roberts or Wilson.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey
