Hi Eliz,
In the 1870 Census Lawrenceburg, Dearborn Co.,Indiana I found a Henry S.
Morgan born in Wales and married to Elmira who had 2 boys from her first
husband who had been killed in the Civil War. Henry S. and Elmira had a
daughter Annetta. I couldn't believe this was Henry S. as I had found him
and his family living next door to his parents in the Altoona Blair County
census for 1870. As I checked the dates I saw the Indiana census had been
taken a month or two before the Pa. census. It was Henry S. and he would
later give his immigration date as 1864.

That is about the time my James family came to PA, they went to
Danville and later down to Youngstown and still later to Chicago. It
was a very common migration pattern. There must have been a lot of
letters home <G> talking about the opportunities.

Hi Norma,
As far as I know I don't have Powell relatives and don't have an answer to
your questions. I just have some questions about your William Powell and
wonder if he may have come to America with my grandparents. When did
William come to America and where is he buried in Pennsylvania? One of my
paternal 2nd great grandparents, Henry Morgan and Ann Thomas, were also
from
Crickhowell and came to America in 1865. They lived in Johnstown, Cambria
County, Pennsylvania for 1 year and them moved to Altoona, Blair County,
Pennsylvania. Henry, his son Henry S. and some of his son-in-laws all
worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Altoona.. Henry and Ann plus some
of their children and grandchildren are buried in Fairview Cemetery,
Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
Thank you.
