Hi Norma,
While tracing this family, I found all the emigration dates would change,
except for Henry's, as I read the obituaries and census records. I get the
feeling, but can't prove it, that their son, Henry S., may have been the
first to come to America in 1864 and then the others in 1865. But, I don't
know for sure if Henry brought his wife and children with him when he came
in 1865. I do know that the date of 1866 stays the same for Henry and Ann
which is when they moved from Johnstown to Altoona. I have not found that
any of the immigration records have helped.
Pittsburgh - One of Henry and Ann's daughter, Mary Ann Morgan my great
grandmother, married and lived in the Pittsburgh area for a number of years
before moving to Westmoreland Co., Pa., where I was born. Mary Ann and her
husband, David Laing, are buried in the Allegheny Cemetery along with some
of their children and grandchildren. You may already know this, but some of
their burials are on the internet.

Hi Lona,
I wish I could give you some specific information regarding the
emigration of my William Powell, but, alas, that's one of the mysteries
I still have. However, you've given me an idea. I know that he did
not
travel with his daughter (Elizabeth Powell) and her husband & children,
but it had not occurred to me to look for his emigration PRIOR to the
family coming in 1868. It certainly is possible that he came to the US
ahead of them, and that his being here is part of why they emigrated.
William, along with Elizabeth, her husband John Davis/Davies, and some
other relatives, are buried in a cemetery in Allegheny County
(Pittsburgh
area). I have the plot map and the exact cemetery name, but not
in front of me. One of the tasks on my project list is to organize
all these
records so I can find things more easily!
Sorry not to be of more help.
