Hi
I am not sure whether this is the full list or not, because there are no
Evans or Owen names on it. However, if you go to:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ourstuff/Cospatrick73.htm
you will find an apparently comprehensive list.
Another source said there were 18 immigrants coming. However, the list above
gives far more than 18 passengers, so I am a bit stumped.
Here is another source, which you may have seen because many of the
passengers are unnamed:
http://www.yesteryears.co.nz/shipping/passlists/cospatrick.html Note that
they are not called first and second class passengers, though they may well
have been - they are called cabin and second cabin - not sure if that means
the same thing? The odd thing is that the two passengers named on this
webpage do not appear on the first webpage above.
Have you tried the Early Settlers Museum in Dunedin?
Cheers

Subject: [POWYS] re passengers to NZ
Does anyone know how I could go about solving this mystery. The immigrant
ship Cospatrick came to NZ in 1873.First class passengers were named as well
as those in steerage. The second class passengers were not, only that there
were four people.I knew two were Edward Evans and Elizabeth Owen, however now
I know the third person to be Elizabeths brother John Owen.I have contacted
Goverment departments here,as well as newspapers of old.I would love to find
that fourth persons name...Any suggestions...how to go about it from the UK
side..maybe there were records..somewhere
Regards Chris
