The college professor and wife who did the Welsh translations were Phillips
and Martha Davies. I am sorry to tell you Phillips died about 2 months ago,
and his obituary was in Y Drych. His wife is still translating Welsh at
$3/page. Her address is 1630 Crestwood Cir., Ames IA 50010-5520, phone
515-232-4576
Phillips Davies did non-Welsh speaking Welsh Americans an extraordinary
service by translating the classic Hanes Cymry America, A History of the
Welsh in America, by The Rev. R. D. Thomas, 1872. Davies' translation was
published by University Press of America Inc., ISBN 0-8191-3410-4, or ISBN
0-8191-3411-2
It was an exceptional buy for me in 1984 at $20. The book, an
extraordinary resource on Welsh people all over the States, does not have
an index, but I am pecking away at making one.

Subject: Re: Welsh translations
Dear Peggy,
I just can't find the name and address of that college professor and wife
in a western college in the U.S. (who do Welsh translation). Someone on
POWYS sent me their names, and they charged by the page, as I recall.
Perhaps someone on POWYS can remember.
