Hello to all on the POWYS list,
I'm new to this list and a bit of a beginner with Welsh research.
I am looking for anyone who has connections with GRIFFITH-JONES.
My grandmother was Elizabeth Ann GRIFFITH-JONES born 1894 in Birkenhead,
daughter of DAVID EDWARD GRIFFITH-JONES, Seaman, born about 1865-1866
(Wales, but place unknown) and Mary Ann RICHARDS (born Liverpool) . They
married in Liverpool in 1885 and lived in Beloe St, Toxteth Park, Liverpool,
but this could have been just an address they used to be able to get married
in Liverpool.
Also I cannot positively identify him on the 1881 Census in Lancs and he is
not on any of the following Carmarthen,Glamorgan, Monmouth, Pembroke, Royal
Navy. He may have moved to the Liverpool area around 1881-1885 but it's
like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
I have found it difficult on the GRO records as the only refs did not have
all the initials, then you can imagine how many JONES, David's I found!!! I
also searched for GRIFFITH-JONES and could not find one.
Does anyone have any connections with a DAVID EDWARD GRIFFITH-JONES son of
DAVID GRIFFITH-JONES ( marriage cert details)
Any help or advice researching a possible double barrelled name would be
appreciated.
