Dear John
Many thanks for listing the internet references to Clement Ekins.
The fact that there is no memorial known to Clement Ekins at Brecon - and I
presume you are familiar with the two churches where there was a family
connection - is very interesting! I think I shall now have to dig a little
deeper elsewhere. I was hoping that there may have been a memorial
inscription which had been transcribed at some point, either in a Brecon
church or a Brecon graveyard. It would seem unlikely that such a person
would have been buried in an unmarked grave . . .
The critical fact I'm looking for is the date and circumstances of death -
for both Clement Ekins', if possible.
Best regards
Clive

Subject: [POWYS] Clement Ekins at Brecon - 1833
Hi All
Having come across a record of the death of Clement Ekins, late coroner
for
the County of Brecon, published on 1st July 1833, I'm wondering whether
anyone knows of any memorial to this person, or his father of the same
name
(recorded the previous year as having died, too) - in or around Brecon?
There is a possibility of a family connection with St Mary's Church in
Brecon, where the son is said to have been married to Mary Anne Williams
on
7th August 1817. The other possibility is St John's Cathedral, Brecon,
where
their daughter, Mary Ann Hansard Ekins, was christened on 23rd November
1818.
Best regards
