Hi Alison
I can see why your William Tilsley b. abt 1835 is a brick wall. I've been
looking for him in the 1841 census (and the 1891 census) and have utterly
failed to find him.
This might be a tenuous lead, showing a Trefeglwys Tilsley with London
descendants who were still connected to Trefeglwys.

Now the Ann Tilsley widow above was, I think, Ann Lloyd (1784-?1858) dau of
Edward Lloyd of Cefnbarrach, Trefeglwys, and later of Rhyd y Carw and his
wife Anne Bennett of Glanyrafon. She married a William Tilsley in 1806.
Jane Tilsley seems subsequently to have married Edward Morgan. She was still
living in 1911.

Hi Nicola
I have TILSLEY in my family tree, the lineage of Gwilym:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwilym_Tilsley which incidentally this ties in
with the ASHTON family, of Geseilfa (which we were talking about recently in
the context of OWEN). Re TILSLEYs, I hit a brick wall at William TILSLEY,
1835 who was down as being born in London and I've not researched any
further than this. (Down the tree is my near immediate family).
