Hello everyone,
Ages ago I told you I'd write to my mother's cousin whose own mother was
sent from Llanllwchaiarn "into service" in Yorkshire at the age of 11.
My aunt is in her late eighties now, rather frail and didn't write back.
So I rang her last night and after the initial difficulty in conversing
across the world we had a nice talk. In response to my question she said
her mother never ever mentioned her feelings about being sent away to
Yorkshire so young."She never mentioned how she felt about it. We didn't
talk about things like that back then." my aunt said, "She was sent into
service you see - and that's where she met my father I think - he was
the gardener there."
Her mother - my Great-Aunt Polly - whom I never met, was 5 years older
than my grandmother whom she had to 'keep an eye on' when she, Lizzie,
arrived in Yorkshire 5 or 6 years later. This is the family in case
anyone who was not on the list when I first wrote recognises anyone:

They lived in the Abermule, Tregynon, Llanllwchaiarn and Kerry areas at
diffferent times. John's daughter Rose had many children - lived
somewhere in Shropshire - I'd love to contact any of her progeny. I
think their name was Williams. I'll check on that and get back later.
Thanks for pondering this,
Mary
