Dear Tricia,
Yes Eirwen is a gem! There are probably many links with her families and
Keith's of which his are a part of my own. I may find a link with many
of these families through the Crickadarn, Gwenddwr, Erwood,
Aberglenddwr, Llaneglwys, Llandeffalle, etc. roots.
It's people like Eirwen as well as many other people who I mentioned
earlier in my mail that perpetuate all knowledge that they have in order
to help us all.
I am sure that one day that we will all agree with the Erwood
postmistress who said that she shouldn't comment on local families to
their face as they may all belong to each other:)))) That is quoted in "
Hills and Sunny pastures- Life in Erwood and it's surrounding Parishes"
all the best

Hi Barrie,
I too have a roundabout connection with Eirwen Jones. One of her Great Aunts
was married to my Great Uncle Thomas Phillips. The Phillips's in turn have a
link with two Williams families through the marriage of Ann WILLIAMS
daughter of Samuel WILLIAMS and Jane LAWRENCE to Thomas PHILLIPS, these two
being the parents of the Thomas who married Mary Ann WILLIAMS, Eirwen's
Great Aunt.
I wrote to Eirwen when I first started my Family History research, having
come across her name in connection with the MIs for LLandefalle, and not
knowing of any connection. She has been of great help, even producing a copy
of the PR with the marriage of Samuel WILLIAMS to Jane LAWRENCE. Through
Eirwen too, I am now in touch with my second cousin Ieuan JONES who lives
near Eirwen and who I met for the first time last June. Ieuan in turn was
kind enough to give me a guided tour of the family graves in Maesyberllan and
Brechfa chapels, and to furnish me with a number of family photographs and
Memorial Cards for copying.
So I feel very grateful to Eirwen and to all the other members of this list
and the Powys FHS who have given me so much help over the past 15 months. I
have discovered much in this time and know I have lots more to find. What an
absorbing pastime this is!
Best wishes
Tricia
