Hi Mike,
I expect you have thought about this, but the family might have been, or become,
non-conformists. Many of the people in my trees 'disappear' in this way, and there
are many burials in non-conformist graveyards by the 1850s.
All the best
Shirley

Subject: [POWYS] MGY Burial of Robert HUMPHREYS near Welshpool
Hi Folks,
I'm struggling to find the burial of my 3 x gt grandfather. In the 1841
Robert (Robt) HUMPHREYS was a 'farmer' in Meifod. By 1851 his wife,
Mary, nee JONES, was a widow and housekeeping in Stredalfedan,
Welshpool. (The 1851 census for Stredalfedan &Tydyn Prydd was less than
3 pages.) Robert and Mary's last son, Joseph was baptised in the Parish
of Welshpool on the 14th November 1847, so Robert was probably alive for
his conception. And there was no indication on the Baptism that Robert
has already died.
I have found a second quarter death in 1849 on FreeBMD for a Robert
HUMPHREYS in the District of Llanfyllin, aka Welshpool.
Using the newly released FindMyPast, parish records I cant find a
burial. (Robert doesn't appear to have been baptised either, although
his 1838 marriage to Mary gives his father as John, and is described as
full age, making a birth before 1817.)
Has anyone any ideas, please?
Regards
Mike
