Thanks Lynne,
But his mother seems to have been a Jane JONES. Also in 1838 he was
described as Full Age on his marriage certificate, making him born
around 1817 which fits with the 1841 age of '20'.

Hi Folks,
I'm struggling to find the burial of my 3 x gt grandfather. In the 1841
Robert (Robt) HUMPHREYS was a 'farmer' in Meifod. By 1851 his wife,
Mary, nee JONES, was a widow and housekeeping in Stredalfedan,
Welshpool. (The 1851 census for Stredalfedan &Tydyn Prydd was less than
3 pages.) Robert and Mary's last son, Joseph was baptised in the Parish
of Welshpool on the 14th November 1847, so Robert was probably alive for
his conception. And there was no indication on the Baptism that Robert
has already died.
I have found a second quarter death in 1849 on FreeBMD for a Robert
HUMPHREYS in the District of Llanfyllin, aka Welshpool.
Using the newly released FindMyPast, parish records I cant find a
burial. (Robert doesn't appear to have been baptised either, although
his 1838 marriage to Mary gives his father as John, and is described as
full age, making a birth before 1817.)
Has anyone any ideas, please?
Regards
Mike
