Hi All,
I'm seeking information about the families of two brothers, Thomas and Edward, both
sons of Edward Edwards of Cefn Coed y Cymmer (particularly Cefn Isaf), Vaynor, Breconshire
(not the farmer). Starting with Edward (the younger):
Edward Edwards, Shoemaker, born abt 1808, Cefn Coed y Cymmer, Vaynor, Brecs.
Marrried: Margaret Davies, 5 Jul 1833, Vaynor, Brecs
Children, all but the last bap. in Vaynor, Brecs:
Roger, 1834
Howell, 1836, died as a child
Howell, 1840
Margaret, 1843
Ann, 1846, died as a child
Elizabeth, 1848
Ann, 1851, Rhymney, Monmouthshire.
The last record I have found for this family was the 1851 Census in Rhymney,
Monmouthshire.
Thomas Edwards, Miner, born abt 1810, Cefn Coed y Cymmer, Vaynor, Brecs.
Married: Mary Thomas 15 Feb 1834, Vaynor, Brecs. She died 10 Mar 1834 in childbirth.
The child, Mary, died at the age of 7mos.
Married: Elizabeth Davies 30 May 1836, Vaynor, Brecs
One known child:
Evan, born May 1837, Cefn Coed y Cymmer, bap at Vaynor, Brecs.
I have found no further information about this family.
I am wondering if either family emigrated from Wales. Please contact me if anything rings
a bell
Many thanks in advance, and Happy New Year!!
