Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

John, thanks for the link to this map.
I too put some entries in. And then felt bad because I had not found a way
to enter a few accented characters. Then, lo and behold, I opened my eyes
and found a few buttons on the screen for doing just this. So, then I
thought I'd go back and edit some earlier entries, but this didn't seem
possible. Also, the buttons below for "Browse the map" don't seem to work
for me. I tried both Safari and Firefox without any luck.
And, finally, there appeared no contact point where I could ask these
questions.
Any ideas?

Dear Mike,
I found one way to correct my own transcription errors or omissions, but it
only works during the same transcription session.
Click on the pink tag you want to amend. A transcription box appears with a
message saying that someone else has submitted a transcription for this
location. You can then enter your corrected transcription.
The three 'buttons' - "Browse the Map", "Identify Locations", and "Record
Memories" - don't seem to be clickable at present. I don't know whether the
website designers intend to make them clickable at a later stage.
I, too, have yet to find a way to contact the folks who run the website. I
have a number of questions I'd like to ask them.
My first question would be to ask when the 190 transcripts I've done so far
will begin to appear on the map. I don't understand the process that
transcriptions have to go through before they begin to appear on the map.
I notice that fellow Powys List member Alison Bryan has already transcribed
over 4000 entries and a total of over 35,000 entries have been transcribed -
but I've yet to spot any grey tags ("incomplete places") or green tags
("completed places") on the areas of Wales I've examined.
I understand from a message on another list that each place has to be
transcribed three times (presumably by different transcribers) before it is
considered completed.
I'll plod on with my transcribing, but it's frustrating that the project
team is keeping us in the dark about how the process operates.
If anyone can tell us more, please do so.
Kind regards,
John
