I have a distant connection with some Trows of Kerry. My great-great

the farm of a John Morgan(s) who I think was the first John's uncle. Living
with this older John in Tynybar, and, in 1851 at Havod, Llanbadarnfynydd,
RAD, was his step-daughter, Jane Trow, born in Kerry around 1821 (according
to one census) or 1826 (according to the other). His wife Mary (whose
maiden name I do not know) was born in Llanllwchaiarn c. 1792 and died in
Mochdre in 1860. I would be interested in identifying Jane's father, and
establishing the connection with Stephen and Reuben Trow (children of James
and Mary Trow, baptised in Kerry in 1815 and 1818 respectively), who are
both servants in John Morgans' household (Hafodvach, Llanbadarnfynydd) in
1841. (I can't find Jane in that census.) I'd be most grateful if anyone
can help.
Many thanks

Hello Shirley
John Morgan married Mary Trow ~ her mother and father were Thomas Trow and
Mary Jones. This branch is a lady I have been writing to for four years and
who has researched the family for 20 years, (it's actually her husband's
family) but she has completed her research now, but I can ask her if she will
exchange information with you if you would like me to.

Thank you for your reply also your offer of look-ups.
I have been lucky enough to visit the Priaulx library on Guernsey a coulple
of times. Do you know the researchers there? I sent a research email to Jean
Vidamour a couple of weeks ago!
Jean is going to concentrate on James Lihou who married Marie Touzeau
because apart from knowing his fathers name was Thomas, we know nothing else
about him. He is proving to be very elusive.
Best wishes

I'm sure this is my Alfred, I have a feeling Louis is supposed to be Louise,
what do you think?
I have just sent a detailed email to the list with names, dates etc.

Hi John
Thank you for your reply.
The information I have is:
Alfred Edgar N Lihou born Jan-Mar qtr 1902, Bristol, UK, married Louie
(Louise)? McDonough Jul-Sep qtr 1924, Brecknock, Breconshire, Powys.
Alfred's death: Jan-March 1982, Brecknock.
Louie's death: Aug 2003, Brecknock, Breconshire. Louie's date of birth
according to her death record is 17 Nov 1905 but I couldn't find the record,
puzzling!
According to the British Phone Books, 1880-1984, Louie lived 22 Belle Vue
Gardens, Brecon.
I found a birth record for Lillian M Lihou, Jan-Mar qtr 1926, Brecknock,
Breconshire, Powys. Mothers maiden name McDonough, (their daughter)?
Lillian married a Cyril Abbot July-Sept qtr 1947, Brecknock.
Alfred's brother:
Clifford George was born Jul-Sep qtr 1903, Bristol, UK, married Nellie
McCarthy Apr-June qtr 1931, Pontypridd.
Clifford's death: Apr-June 1973, Oxford.
Nellie's death: Oct 1987, Weston super Mare, (where I now live)! According
to her death record, Nellie was born 19 Aug 1906, Cardiff.
I found a birth record for Janet Lihou, Apr-June 1939, Oxford. Mother's
maiden name McCarthy, (their daughter)?
Janet married Peter H Jackson, Apr-June qtr 1960, Oxford.
Alfred and Clifford's father, also Alfred, was born on Guernsey, Channel
Islands. I have records of the rest of my Lihou's going back to about 1733.
If anyone on the list is also researching the Lihou's I would be willing to
share information.
Best wishes
Kathryn
May I bring to your notice that there is a Hugh Wallis Channel Islands
section, which I stumbled across when I was in Canada!

I have been researching my Lihou family name. They are originally from Guernsey, Channel Islands. I have now found some of my Lihou's in Wales.
The names I'm hoping some kind soul can help me with are, Alfred Edgar N Lihou, who I believe was married to Louise Lihou in Brecon. I'm sure this Alfred is my 2nd cousin, I think!! His father was Alfred Nicolas Lihou, Mother Jane Hitchcock.
