Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Happy Christmas and Happy Hunting to all on the Powys List.
Lavinia, those photographs are wonderful, many thanks.

Sorry to butt in Bryn, but you are very knowledgeable. How do I enrol on the Carmarthenshire list? I have tried, but it comes through to my NTL address which is a bit of a pain.
Thanks.

I wondered if the parish registers for Berriew are available online.
l am looking of my KEARN/CARN family who were all baptised there in the 1830s.
As l live in Leicester and dont drive its difficult to get to Llandrindod or the NLW.
I am visiting my family in Welshpool next week and Berriew is the next village so could go to the church if the registers are still there.

Hi Dennis,
The sister was Jane HAMMONDS, she was baptised in 1772 d/o Thomas & Mary
(nee DIASS) and married in Berriew 1797. As Francis MILLS was from Bettws
Cedewain I assume she went to live there. I haven't checked but I'm
travelling down to Powys archives next March and checking Bettws PRs is on
my long list of things to do. I haven't found Jane in the census, but I
have no evidence of where she lived or when she died, and I'd think that
only her death might be in the BMDs, although I haven't actually looked.
I use NorthWales BMDs quite a lot - as it gives the sub-district as well as
the registration district I've used this to collate with the census details
and I managed to pick out the right Jones birth cert first time!

Ellie

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for this, these are the 2 brothers - they also had a sister Jane who
married Francis MILLS of Bettws Cedewain, but I've not been able to find
anything more of her after the wedding. The other siblings seem to have
died in childhood.

Hi Listers,
I just wondered whether anyone is researching the HAMMONDS family of
Berriew, MGY, particularly Richard c1781-1858 and Edward c1784-1860 & their
descendants.
Looking in the archives there were a couple of entries about this family
from 2000 and 2005, but the email addresses are no longer active.
