Sorry I do'nt have the Rads 1851 in full, so not your bit Margaret.
Thomas and Elizabeth would be both 30 by then, and dau Elizabeth 10 ???
You could email "archives(a)powys.gov.uk" to see if they can help you now.
Good Luck,
Dennis
Dear Dennis, Thank you, you wouldn't happen to have the census for Rads 1851
would you, Thomas would have been 10 then, I would be grateful if you could
look that up for me. Margaret
Hello Alison,
At least I'm not alone.
Good luck,

Thank you, John. The photos are mystical and marvelous. They evoke a
trip through time, back to a quieter, almost druidic era. Lovely, they
are. Yes, its hiraeth I'm feeling!!

Hoping to find some ROGERS descendants who can help me with my Evans family
Thank you.

Hi Margaret,
I have on the Powys FHS Brecs 1861 census cd -
Thomas Lloyd ,h, m, 20, Ag Lab, RAD, Aberedw, Nursery House, /f72/p1
Eliza Lloyd, w, m, 20, BRE Builth, ,, ,,
,,
Elizabeth Lloyd, d, 1, BRE, Llanewi'r Cwm, ,, ,,
,,
Are they yours ??
Dennis Cleaton
Rads, Powys
Thanks Dave,
I saw yesterday, a funeral note that Pisgah Chapel near Llanafan is a Baptist
one, so you may find some family there? I never really remembered it as
Baptist in my youthful visits there long ago!!
Best regards,
Dennis Cleaton
Hi, I would appreciate any help in tracing my family. My great Grandfather
was Thomas Lloyd from Aberedw Radnorshire, he married Elizabeth Powell from
Builth Wells in 1860. Elizabeth's father was also a Thomas (Powell) born in 1819
in Builth. Is anyone tracing this family? Or does anyone have any information
on them?
Thank you. Margaret
Dear Dennis
Thankyou for this information. I had already tried Troedrhiwdalar but
Pentref Baptist Chapel in Newbridge-on-Wye is a new name to me which I will
certainly look at.
All my Griffiths family (that I have traced) were in Glamorgan by 1841. The
only clue to Llanafan Fawr is that all four children gave it as birthplace
on 1851 census.
Alison Skipper has kindly given me information that my George Griffiths may
be:
George Griffiths b c1771
Son of George Griffiths c1739-1803 (died at Cribarth, Llanfanfawr) and Ann
(nee Morgan) who married in Llandefalle 20 May 1768.
Siblings Mary b c1771, John 1776-1849, David c1781-1859 and Jane.
Regards
Dave

Hi Andy,
I haven't found any of my Parrys in the Welshpool or Berriew area. They
kept mainly to the Llangurig/Llanidloes area of Montgomeryshire with one son
of my 4 x great grandfather Thomas moving to the Llanwrthwl on the
Breconshire/Radnorshire border. I also know one family moved to South Wales
and then America.
The name Edward, however, occurs frequently among my Parry ancestors so
there could have been a connection way back before my 4 x great grandfather
was born.
You have done very well with your Parry research to get back to Sarah and
also know the names of her parents. Thomas, my earliest confirmed Parry was
born c1778, the 1841 Census records that he was not born in Montgomeryshire,
however in 1851 it states that his place of birth was Llangurig. I have
been unable to find his Baptism record in Llangurig and think it likely that
the 1841 Census record was correct. The only way to discover the names of
his parents or at least his father is to find his Baptismal record but as I
don't know where he was born this is proving difficult.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey

Pryse Duerfeldt
Hi,
I am trying to find John Price who migrated from Wales to South Carolina in
the j750's with his two brothers, Thomas and Robert.
As you have already surmised, the spelling was changed once they reached
America. That makes the search even harder.
Any help or advise that you offer will be greatly appreciated as this
gentlemen is my 4 x grandfather.

Hello all you kind people,
Does anyone have easy access to census documentation for 1861or 1871, Am looking for a Daniel Jones, born in Ruabon, Denbighshire about 1861, found age 40 yrs in Blaisdon, Gloucs, in 1901 census
Any help most gratefully received
Tim Watkin Jones
Particularly interested in his parents names, places of birth, marrige details etc
Can anyone help I think I have found my GRT GRT...... Grandfather in the parish register for Abergele but as the name is John Williams I can not be certain that it is the correct one. The names of the parents are names that have been used in the family in following generations. Is this the only way I can proof I have the correct John Williams. Or am going about it wrongly. All suggestions welcome

Sarah Parry was the daughter of Edward Parry of the Dairy (a Farm which stretched all the way down to the Severn ... from Powis Castle I believe) and Anne Pryce. Sarah had seven known siblings. The Parry family are part of the history of Welshpool from 1870 to 1850. Several of the family were burgesses of Welshpool. You will find some information of the family in the museum by the canal dock in Welshpool
She was my fifth grand aunt.
I have extensive information on this Parry family & will contact you off list with this detail.

There seems to be a lot of interest in Llanafan Fawr so I hope somebody can
help me find out more about my ancestor George Griffiths.
George was a Baptist Minister (and grocer) who was born abt 1775 (I do not
know where) and died in 1850 at Corntown, Glamorgan. He was in Corntown in
1825.
