To join a rootsweb list you should use the list name with the word 'Request'
i.e. PATRIOTS-WAR-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
All other mail goes to the list address without the 'request' i.e.
PATRIOTS-WAR-L(a)rootsweb.com
When subscribing or unsubscribing to a list put the word SUBSCRIBE (or
UNSUBSCRIBE) in the subject line and in the message area.
Don't add ANYTHING else. No signatures, no thank you's, no questions, no
ads, nothing else. The request address is handled by a rather stupid
machine that is easily confused by additional information.

Same as for all RootsWeb lists: send an eMail addressed to
PATRIOTS-WAR-L(a)rootsweb.com
with only the word SUBSCRIBE in the message box - nothing at all on the
subject line.
For information and addresses of just about ALL lists, go to:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/internet.html
and follow the prompts.
I'm sending to list in case others also can use this info.
Cheers to all,
Ginny Crawford
