Hi Lesley
Did Edward Wilson stay in Australia or did he return to Canada?

HI,
My g-g-g uncle was a Canadian Exile sent to Van Diemans Land (or I
should
say Edward Augustus Wilson a Canadian Exile), came to Van Diemans
Land and
married my g-g-g Aunt...I live in Tasmania (formerly above) and have
done
extensive research into the Canadian Exiles in the process of
compiling my
family tree.
I travelled to Sydney to view the original copy of the book you
mention by
Daniel Heustis among others written by former Canadian Exiles. They
can be
view at the 'Mitchell Library' which is part of the State
Library of
New
South Wales, Australia.
I have also viewed all the original documentation stored in the
Tasmanian
Archives which has already been sent by Archives to be put on the
Patriots
website. It was certainly interesting reading.
There is also a monument at a beach about 20 minutes from where I
live,
which was erected on the site the Exiles landed in Van Diemans Land.
I can
send a copy of that monument if you wish but it won't be until my
scanner is
up & running again, or I could send one snail mail.
REgards
