The Australian convict list (AUS-CONVICTS-L(a)rootsweb.com) has listers who
know just about everything about those who arrived as unwilling guests of the
English crown. I would join that list and post an inquiry there - include
all the dates you have, spellings of the surname, etc. There is a lot about
the Patriots War prisoners of both French and English descent - and in fact
about all the convicts - the Australians are proud of their rugged heritage
and have extensively researched the hulks, the convict ships, the prison
camps, and on and on, as well as the individuals.
This is a good time to plug John Fuller's list of lists and webpages - a
remarkable resource! For lists about Australia, go to
http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html
and then click "Countries other than US". Once there, click
"Australia".
Voila! So easy - so much to find.
