Susan and all...I'm not in competition with the Macon County site,,,but the
reason I do offer my lookups also for free is I have more information than
what is available on the Macon Chamber of commerce site. As noted on the
site,,,their last update was February 2002. I have the latest Database ,
Dated October 1 2002 directly from the National Park Service which has 41718
records . The Macon site although is supplied the information from the
Andersonville archives, advertises 32000 and hasn't updated in a long while.
To give an example...Susan..I show the following that is not included in the
online database for your ancestor.
I thought you might like it.
Discharged per General Order, June 16, 1865.
Data source PA ADG RPT, 138th INF: 368
I'm happy to send any additional details I can .

Here is a free way to find your relatives that were at Andersonville
Prison camp. Go to
http://www.maconcountyga.org/ then click on the link "Andersonville
National Cemetery and Historical Site", then on that page there are two
look ups links, one by name and one by rank. My great Grandfather was
John Ritchey from Pa. but they have him listed as John Richey, so you
may need to see if they have the spelling wrong..
