It looks like after many years searching I have found my ggg grandfather,
William Lance. William was born about 1814 in or near Walnut Valley, NJ where he
eventually married Charlotte Brown. Poor Charlotte passed away between 1865
and the 1870 NJ census, leaving Willam a widower. for years I've tried
unsucessfully to find what happened to William. His eldest son, Anthony, b 1852,
moved to the north Scranton, Albington, Clarks Green, Nicholson, area where he
lived most of his life and passed in 1931.
It now looks like William moved to Printers Road, Lackawanna, in what was
then the 14 Ward, dist 68 and changed the spelling of our family name to
LANNCE, by adding another "N". Three of his children, Jennie, Robert, and
William
are there with him. Now but the 1890 cnsus he has again dissappeared. Maybe he
passed away, maybe he moved again.
Anyone have any ideas?
