Lilwolf asked me this, but requires me to add myself to her/his approved
list in order to reply. I assume the PAGENWEB address is approved. Basically,
I've got be pretty keen to talk to someone if I'm going to go through that, and
mostly I'm not. These spam prevention routes are a pain. Email ought to be
easy.

I basically use Ancestry's search, to which I've got a full subscription so
individual searches don't cost me anything, and the IGI. I don't find many of
the PA BMD records included in either, though for late 1800s I've also added
in the censuses, which does at least tell me about the living at that time
and indicates a date of birth. What does the Stephen Morse site offer for NYC?
What link do you use to perform a search of birth records in Philadelphia,
Pa in the late 1800s. Can you narrow it down like in NYC via Stephen Morse
so it will not cost as much for a search at whatever links you use.
cheers
Maggie
