Coleen, depending on the period and exactly where Pleasant Mount is,
the Catholic Church of St John's at Honesdale, Wayne Co, may have been
the only Catholic one in the area. Whether or not, it would be worth
contacting them to see what records they hold for the marriage and
subsequent baptisms. They still hold the books recording these events.
If one partner was Catholic it's more than likely the marriage would
have been in a Catholic church rather than the one of the other partner.
good luck
Maggie

Subject: [PAGENWEB] HMMM INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT
John Scott it seems was born down around the
area of Thompkinsville/Thomasville (York Co) and Pleasant Mount (Wayne
Co) PA. His
mother may have been a Hilda or Heigrid was
Catholic. Seems his father was 3rd generation in the US. His fathers'
people may have been
from England or Ireland with ties to the Church
of England and may have converted to Baptist.
Hilda/Heigrid was Catholic.
His spouse may have been a Neeva, Neda, Neta possibly Running Horse
from around the
Niagara Falls area of Canada. He may have
met her while doing some trapping up around
Canada Territory.
May have some family graves in an old church
yard on the edge of Thompksinville/Thomasville
if the church is still there.
Can anyone help me further my research? My
Martha Ann Scott was the daughter of these
two people, John and Neeva/Neda/Neta.
