Tonia,
I found in the 1850 West Cacalico Town, of Lancaster Co, PA the following:
Dwelling 100, Family 108
Emenuel Gusherd, 30 yrs, male, laborer, b. PA
Leah Gusherd, 28 yrs, b. PA
Samuel Gusherd, 5 yrs, b. PA
Catherine Gusherd, 1 yr, b. PA.
I did not find any others of this surname in the census, for Lancaster Co. But
you are dealing with a German family so "G" and "K" are
interchangeable.
I did find others of this surname with various spellings of Gushard, Gushart,
Gushert in Cumberland, Franklin and Crawford Co.s
Good luck. meg

Hi! I am new to this list. I am in search of the parents of Samuel
GUSHARD.
He was born June 26, 1845 in Lancaster, PA. At a young age he and his family
moved to Napperville, Du Page County, ILL. Samuel served in the Civil War and
afterwards moved to Waterloo, IA where he married Hannah LANCE/LANTZ. He had
a cousin named Isaac GUSHARD that seemed to be living in the same areas
during the same time frames. Any help or information would be greatly
apprecated. Thank you in advance for your time and attention to my request. I
am willing to share what information that I have.
