Pat...are there any Blackwell's (or Maurer's) in your family. I ask
because, on October 25, 1812, my 4x great grandparents (David and Elizabeth
[Maurer] Blackwell) had a daughter, Margaret, baptized at the Trinity
Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. The God parents/sponsors were Samuel Fries
and Magdalena Jost (which could be an early spelling of Yost).
This baptism record appears in a compilation of the Trinity Church records
spanning 1751-1904, and was prepared by Jacqueline Nein and Gail H. Hesser
(1988). I found this at the Berks County Historical Society in Reading.
Please note, I don't have any more details on Jost/Yost. Moreover, I
haven't found David Blackwell's origins/parents, but I think I've identified
Elizabeth Maurer's parents and grandfather (I think they lived in Swatara,
then moved to Robeson Twp, Berks County).

Subject: [PAGENWEB] Deshler - Wycoff cousin "J. L."
Hello,
I'm a descendant of Captian (Johannes) David DESHLER and Maria
WUSTER/WISTER of Baden Germ. The other day a came across a web site by a
"J. L" who descends from David's Grandson, Peter (1743 - 1800). I'm a
descendant of Peter's brother, Col. David DESHLER. This person was also
related to an ancestor of my husband's, Peter Clausen WYCOFF. I have a lot
of information to share on both of these families and would really like to
connect with the auther of this web site.
I would, of course, by happy to share with anyone researching
DESHLER's (any spelling) from the Northampton Co, Lehigh Co. PA area or
their descendants who have moved to other areas.
My DESHLER lineage: Elizabeth Ann Deshler (w/o Daniel H. YOST) d/o
David Deshler (h/o Maria Catherine MERTZ) s/o George Deshler (h/o Susanna
DRIESBECH) s/o Col. David Deshler (above) h/o Susanna Elizabeth MULENBERG.
I have a lot of info on this family and would like a lot more. Please
contact me to share.
Thanks
Pat (Yost) Longley

Pat, I presume JOST and YOST may be variants of the same family name.
John Peter LANTZ was born in what is now Germany in 1736. He came to
America as a little boy of two years. Little is known of John Peter except he had
at least three children, one of whom was John LANTZ who married the "Widow
JOST", and later died in Pennsylvania. A rough guess is that JOHN LANTZ, son of
JOHN PETER, would have been born at least 20 years after the date of his
father's birth, or 1756 or later.
The LANTZ - LANCE people settled in the Water Gap area of New Jersey but
crossed over into Pennsylvania around 1800- maybe earlier.
There is one record of a Christian YOST who married Elizabeth Lantz, born
Jan 27, 1804.
