I once posted to this Harvey list seeking connections to other researchers
related to the Harvey's of Western PA, Ohio and Brooke County, West Virginia
and nobody responded, but based on a recent find I thought I should try
again.
I recently converted a box of old 8mm film of my line of Harvey's dating
from 1948-1975 to digital format. Most of the footage was captured in
Wellsburg, WV.
The video includes footage of Lenora Harvey-Fowler, 1861-1955. She is my
Mother's "Aunt Nora". It's amazing to me when I realize that she was
alive
when Abraham Lincoln was President and before the start of the Civil War.
Her Brother was William Hamilton Harvey, one of the early founders of the
Wellsburg paper industry and a partner of Samuel George. Nora and Ham's
father was William Harrison Harvey, son of Job Harvey who was born in the
Redstone/Brownsville, PA region.
The footage at the old Harvey Homestead between the high school (now middle
school) and the water works building on the Ohio river at 12th rear Main St
in Wellsburg, West Virginia includes a birthday party with 15-20 kids. If
any of you on the Brooke County list might have relatives who visited the
Harvey house in that era let me know and I would be happy to share the video
clips with you. I am hoping that my Mother can help me identify some of the
other kid's names when she gets the DVD I mailed to her today. The only
name in the video other than Harvey that I am sure of is my Aunt Mary
"Cipriani"-Harvey, who married my Grandfather's brother, Walter Harvey.
Other Harvey's in the video include, Dessie, Belle, Homer, Ed and Stella.
If you might like to see if your Harvey's are related to my Harvey's I have
more information on my line of Harvey's at:
http://family.bobhollis.com (Just click the Harvey name on the left border
of the site) Click any name to explore the family tree on the interlinked
FTM web site, or click any image to enlarge.
Eventually I will be streaming the video clips on this site.
All the best,
Bob Hollis,
Son of Christina Harvey-Hollis
