Subject: McNair & Anabaptists in Somerset County
Just to keep this mailing list moving, I will re-send my query. I am
looking for information about the group of people who moved from New
Jersey to
Somerset County, PA and settled in the area known as Turkey Foot. My
ancestor,
John McNair was among that group. But I don't know any more about
him except
that he probably emigrated from Scotland, had a farm in Turkey Foot,
and
planted a lot of apple trees. I'd like to know more about that
group, who seem to
have been Anabaptists. Does anyone know of any records of this group
or
their church? Or are there any more McNairs out there who have info
about John's
origins?
