Leslie,
This is not a short cut but close. If you are using the Tahoma font Pressing
ALT+0163 will give you the desired result £. Different fonts use different
key strokes.
Determine the font first. Then look at the character map for the font you
are using to find the ALT+#### key strokes to print the £ symbol. Oh yea,
use the ten key pad on the key board for the numbers.
Good luck,
Dale DeCoursey

Hi Dom,
I am a computer illiterate attorney, who deals with 17th and 18th century
New York and Pennsylvania tax records almost daily. So what I really want
is a key on my keyboard that says £. How close can I get to that using a
short cut? Can you explian to me, in English, how to get as close as
possible to my 'ideal' situation.
Thanks,
Leslie Potter

Hundreds of symbols are available in Outlook and through the
"Insert" key
(as long as you are typing in HTML). The £ is there as Code 20A4. You
can design your own shortcut key there also if you plan on using it
alot.

Dear List,
I subscribe to the Dutch Colonies List. One of the other subscribers to
that list just sent us the instructions for making the English Pound Sign.
So for those of you who work with 17th and 18th Century American
records,
I am enclosing those instructions. I feel that this is so cool! Enjoy.
