Pat, I only know of Esther Yost as wife of Jacob Artley, she was born 1775, apparently in
Berks County, PA as that is where Jacob was born and Abraham, their son was born in 1800.
Berks County at that time extended from south eastern PA into central PA, later many
counties were created from it.
I enjoyed your "My space". I have been interested in photography for over 60
years and have taken thousands of 35mm slides 16mm movies and also Kodacolor prints.
Currently I am into digital cameras and have not used my Leicas for about 5 years. I
raised African Violets when living in PA but have not had any here in Florida in recent
years. I still enjoy looking at the when I see them in the stores.
Have you tried Google, Yahoo, Rootsweb for any info on the Yost family. Have had some
success by typing Artley in those sites. Also Rootsweb has a message board where you can
post an inquiry and check back occasionally to see if you have had replies. I have had
some good and some no good replies.
Have you checked census records? If you have access to Heritage Quest, you can view all
the census records.
Brick walls are hard to crack, I spent about 25 years searching for Abraham's parents
before finding out about Jacob and Esther. I knew they had several children but never had
any names.
Thanks for contacting me, but unfortunately I have no info on the Yost family.
Warren

Hello Warren,
I saw your reference to Elizabeth Yost b 1775 PA. I have two brothers
(Nathaniel Yost b 1792 m Elizabeth ?? & John Yost b 1797 m Maria Von Steuben) who
are my "Brick Wall". My father believed that Joseph Yost might be their
father but since my father's death, I have not found any proof of that (it's
probably here somewhere in his papers where I'm still looking).
Do you have any information on your Elizabeth's brothers? (It apears she
would be a generation older than my John & Nathaniel.) Any clues you may have
that would point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
