There is a mention in the Pitt Digital Research Library, Historic
Pittsburgh, of a James McPherson. "Old Westmoreland : a history of Western
Pennsylvania during the Revolution" by Edgar Wakefield Hassler, P. 145
"James McPherson, one of the captives, accepted British service, and acted
with the Indians on the Northwestern border until after Wayne's victory in
1794*" The footnote says 6 Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio, Vol II, p.
104 He was captured by the Indians, this was during a campaign called
Lochry's Disaster. The story of this starts on p. 139 of the above. The
