I agree also - since this was a slam at a Democrat, how would Republicans
feel if it was a slam against them ? Pretty soon there would be nothing
but nasty slams against each other....

Guess you haven't been reading the newspapers lately. The Democratic party
has lost a few gears and most of it's sanity.
As I wrote, I thought this funny, and for many reasons.
What bothers me most is that an old drunk who clearly wants America to lose
the war and who is clearly giving aid and comfort to the enemy is given a
"pass" buy the media and it seems to me far too many of us citizens.
You can call it political if you want, but in my book a traitor is a traitor.

Although someone could dispute many things you say, that shouldn't be done
here either. The whole point is that it has absolutely nothing to do with
genealogy and therefore, in my opinion shouldn't be posted here. I'm sure
there are plenty of other forums where it would be appropriate and anyone
wanting to post and discuss it should take it there.
Look at the off topic messages it has caused already. Can you imagine the
clutter if we all decided to debate it? Or what if everyone decided to
post their own pet peeve of the day? As for me, I'll vote for strict rules
to keep things on topic and that's genealogy.
