I work in a charity shop and we’ve been given a very old family bible that I’
d like to return to family members. I'm currently emailing all and sundry
about it!
The name inside the front cover, to whom I believe the bible belonged, is
Sarah Ann HIGGS. Her address is given as 26 Richard Street, Leicester
(England). It’s a handwritten notation dated 1866.
In the births section, the following is also handwritten:
Sarah Ann HIGGS, born June 11 1841.
Margaret Ann HIGGS, Born 23 July 1846.
It’s a Cassell’s Illustrated Family Bible, very big and absolutely
beautiful, still in it’s original cover. There is another handwritten
notation further in the book but the only words I can read are the surname
HIGGS and possibly a date or price.
Could somebody look these ladies or their address up on any census they might
have? It might help to track descendants down.
Many thanks!
