Nina,
I see Gene Stackhouse has referred you to the Philadelphia City
Archives. If you need an address, you can find them on Google. Good luck
with your search.

Subject: [PAGenWeb] NEWTON - new lister
Hello everyone,
This is my first contact with a site outside UK so please bear with me or
tell me if I am asking for something I can't have, please!
I am trying to trace some members of my NEWTON family from Nottingham,
England. as follows:
John NEWTON born c 1835 Sneinton, Nottingham came to Philadelphia around
1891 and, I think, died there in 1893. He is said to have brought 4 or
possibly five of his young children with him - Annie, William,Horace
Albert aka Bertie and Florence plus his step-dau Jane Adelaide BUST.
Frederick Handel NEWTON(John's eldest son) born 1857 in Sneinton,
Nottingham. He may have emigrated to Philadelphia between 1879 and 1890.
They were both Lace Trade workers, John was a previous Lace Factory
Manager.
I would be so grateful for any help, either from others researching the
names or help on where I could look to find some answers. I am willing to
try for look ups in the Nottingham area for anyone researching here.
Thank you
Nina Terry
