Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Good evening everyone.
I just wanted you to know that a representative from State Representative
Lynn Herman's office will be at McDonald's on Monday at 9:30 am for just a
short while. Lynn wants everyone to know that he supports this project and
if it were not that he is in session next week he would be there himself. He
will be watching the project closely (like everyone else). I hope we can
count on you being there if not for the whole week then just for a few days.
Sincerely,
Renee L. Waring

I wanted everyone to know that we will have Dean Sharpless, and possibly a
representative or two from the State of Pennsylvania in Clearfield County for
the ICM project that will be going on there next week. Also Nate of World
Gen Web will be there. Any civic group, scout troop, church group, or club
is welcome. You will meet many people, possibly cousins that you have not
met for a while or never have met, and I know you will make lots of friends.
Certainly you will be mine and Mom's. A local radio station (WPHB) will be
broadcasting public service notices for ICM and I hope you will be listening
next week for an interview. If you decide in the middle of the week that you
would like to help COME ON OVER! We would love to work with you.
Please, if you would, could everyone who is planing to be at McDonald's
Monday, June 18th, Tues. June 19th, etc. please e-mail me your "I'll be there
Renee's." We need you. Without you there is no project and the work will
delayed, in many cases until it is to late. I have enough faith to believe
that you will come. Mom and I cannot do this alone. We have people coming
all the way from Pittsburg and farther I am sure. I know I am making the
trip twice in one week and my Mother (who grew up in West Decatur) will be
there for two visits as well. We will be traveling 3 hr. to be there one
way. ARE WE CRAZY??? Some of you may be wondering. I've already been
asked. No, not crazy, just wanting to give something back and make a
difference. So, God bless, and please write me back with an "I'll be there
Renee." If I don't respond to you till tomorrow night don't be surprised. I
am working 12 hr. again tomorrow.
PS. If there is a member of the local Judicial System on these lists could
you please contact me? I think that those kids who have vandalized
cemeteries and been unlucky enough to be caught should be working on this
project. Possibly we can teach them that it is their civic duty to become a
working part of society instead of trying to destroy those things that we
hold sacred.
Sincerely,
That crazy woman,

Good afternoon everyone.
My name is Renee Waring and we have put an org. together called ICM with the
blessing and sponsorship of WorldGenWeb. Thanks to some very giving people
there are two websites with information, a message board, a chat room and a
List where you can find out more about us. I would like to give you a short
review OK?
ICM is an organization dedicated to the preservation, collection, and
transcription of cemeteries around the world. Our believe is that we can
save a lot of genealogical information if we collect it now instead of
waiting for someone else to do it. Time, conditions, and vandals have done a
lot of damage to our graveyards. Time can't be stopped, and the conditions
such as acid rain will probably be with us for a long time to come. BUT, we
can educate others, particularly young people, and we can collect the info.
and get it available to others now. THIS we can change, and we must. Also,
we are not a repository for cemetery transcriptions but if you have done the
work already we would love to have copies. We will make sure that the
information is put where people can find it. ICM is also non profit, so
there will be no money made by us.
ICM will collect information the year round but during the Month of May we
will push for "Family Groups, senior citizens, Scouts, churches, and the like
to participate with us." If we encourage the kids to help all the better.
The only reason kids vandalize grave yards is fear of the unknown and peer
pressure. Education is the answer.
We would like to get you involved in this project. Giving something back out
of the goodness of your heart is the greatest gift of all. We do not except
donations, though if you would like to bring and extra clip board, pen, paper
or some other items we would gladly except. The information we collect will
be copied to all your favorite sites, including the Historical Societies
(they are really coming around to the idea). My dream is to have this
project out live me (and God willing I have a long time to go) and continue
to grow.
Below my signature there are links to our two web sites, our message board,
our chat room (which we use on special occasions), and our List. I would
love to hear from you. It has also been suggested already to have a reunion
in the winter of all the volunteers. Wouldn't that be wonderful? A room
full of big hearted people.
All my best,
Renee L. Waring

I have a copy of the book "John Kimpel and His Descendants in America" and
also "The Kimpel Clan". If anyone is in need of a look up for this family, I
would be glad to help.
